NAPA – CALIFORNIA HOSPITALITY MEETS MODERN LIVING

From Napa to Healdsburg, Northern California’s wine country has earned its reputation for easy living amidst rolling hills and vineyards. Whether you’re settling down or enjoying the state’s finest hospitality, this region truly has it all.

It’s no secret that Napa county lends itself to luxurious getaways and weekend trips. But for many, wine country represents local history and familial tradition. Regional expert and Compass agent Christine Krenos notes that the area “still offers old-school culture. These residents have been here for a long time, and they’re emotionally connected to their spaces.”

This leisurely lifestyle is widely appealing, especially as buyers set their sights on homes with more livable square footage and outdoor amenities. Wine country is perfectly positioned to offer a reprieve from its bustling neighbor, San Francisco. The statistics say it all – according to Compass analysis of MLS data, the quantity of listings in contract has increased by more than 90% in Sonoma County and 82% in Napa County YoY.

With or without a mandate to stay close to home, city dwellers and suburbanites alike have always looked toward wine country for sunshine, world-class dining, and indoor-outdoor living that rivals the country’s most sought-after luxury markets. This area offers perfect getaway destinations, hosting visitors and residents alike into the crisp fall months, long after the traditional second home season ends on Labor Day weekend.

Propelled by second-home market dynamics, this region’s pocket listing marketplace continues to boom. With top-of-the-line homes trading hands privately between friends and a steep influx in demand, transactions move at a breakneck pace. Krenos observes, however, that buyers in this region are particularly astute. “They know that it’s not just about the home – it’s about the vineyard and the land and the site.” Discerning buyers, she notes, “know what they’re looking for and they’re able and willing to wait for it.”

With inventory at a recent high, buyers are flocking to this picturesque region – which balances proximity to city life, renowned hospitality, and livability beyond compare.
